In addition to the Two-Factor-Authentication, the trusted and logged-in devices mechanism provides an extra layer of security for your MyHeritage Account. Security is a top priority for us and we want to give our users the opportunity to maximize the security of their accounts. As a preventive measure to ensure your account's security, you need to authorize new devices on which you sign in to your MyHeritage Account for the first time.

Whenever your account is accessed with a new device, you will receive an email asking you if it is you that just tried to log in. Please check your inbox for an email from MyHeritage with the subject “Did you just log in to MyHeritage?”

If you are trying to log in with the new device you can ignore the email. If it turns out that you weren’t trying to access your account you should immediately contact Customer Support to make sure your account will be secured. To contact Customer Support, click HERE.

Devices that you have indicated as “trusted”, do not require a verification code for 30 days from your previous log-in.

How does a device become “Trusted”?

The device becomes trusted if you enable the Two-Factor Authentication and mark the device as trusted when entering the 6-digit code in this step:

You can find more info about the Two-Factor Authentication here.

Your trusted devices are listed in your account setting.

Log in to your MyHeritage account and click on your name at the top right corner of the screen. A drop-down menu will open. Click “Account settings”:

Scroll down to the “List of trusted and logged in devices” section.

If you would like to remove a certain device from the list, please click on the “Remove” option.

A Pop-up will appear, click “Remove” to approve your decision to remove the device.

After removing the device, it will no longer appear in the list of trusted and logged-in devices, you can always add the device again from new if you want. Simply log in to your MyHeritage account using the device you would like to add.

Important: Changing a password will log you out on all of your devices. You will need to enter your new password to log back in.
